Electrogalv Steel
Electrogalvanised mild steel combines the strength and
workability of mild steel with a thin zinc coating applied through an
electroplating process. This coating provides improved corrosion resistance
compared with untreated steel while maintaining a smooth, clean, and consistent
surface finish. The electrogalv surface also provides an excellent keying face
for powder coating, delivering strong adhesion and a high-quality, durable
finish.
As a result, electrogalv steel is particularly well suited
to applications that will be painted or powder coated, and is widely used for
cabinetry, shelving, and interior joinery where a refined appearance and
reliable coating performance are required for indoor environments. It is also
commonly used for interior architectural features, ventilation panels,
equipment enclosures, air conditioning grilles, and commercial fit-outs where
moderate corrosion resistance is required.
Electrogalvanised sheet is often selected when a project
requires better protection than standard mild steel but does not require the
heavier zinc coating associated with hot dip galvanised steel.
