Aluminium (5005 & 5052 Grades)
Aluminium is one of the most versatile and widely used
materials for perforated sheet metal products due to its light weight,
corrosion resistance, and excellent appearance. Grade 5005 aluminium is
commonly selected for architectural applications because it offers a smooth
surface finish that is well suited to anodising and powder coating. It is often
used for decorative screens, façade panels, privacy screening, ceiling panels,
and interior fit-outs where appearance is important. Grade 5052 aluminium provides
higher strength and improved durability, making it more suitable for demanding
exterior applications or components that may require additional forming or
structural performance.
Aluminium has a high level of natural corrosion resistance
due to its ability to rapidly form a hard, protective layer of aluminium oxide
when exposed to air - enabling it to perform well in outdoor environments with
minimal maintenance. Aluminium perforated sheet is relatively easy to process,
making it ideal for custom architectural features, ventilation panels, acoustic
treatments, balustrade infills, and lightweight industrial applications. It is
especially popular where a clean, modern appearance and long service life are
required.
A key advantage of aluminium is its excellent suitability
for powder coating, which enables a very wide range of durable colour finishes
and textures to be achieved while further enhancing surface protection and
design flexibility for architectural applications.
