316 2B Stainless Steel
316 grade stainless steel provides a higher level of
corrosion resistance than 304 stainless steel, particularly in marine, coastal,
chemically aggressive, and food-related environments. The addition of
molybdenum improves its resistance to chlorides and harsh atmospheric
conditions, making it the preferred choice for projects located near the ocean
or in demanding industrial and high-care food processing settings.
Perforated 316 stainless steel is widely used in commercial
kitchens and food production facilities where high hygiene standards, frequent
washdowns, and exposure to moisture, salts, and cleaning chemicals are common.
Typical applications include food processing equipment, commercial kitchen
ventilation systems, drain and floor grates, preparation benches, washdown
panels, and hygienic screening components. It is also commonly used for coastal
architecture, marine applications, wastewater treatment facilities,
pharmaceutical processing, and high-end exterior features where maximum
durability is required.
Although it is significantly more expensive than 304
stainless steel, the improved long-term performance and resistance to corrosion
can make it the most economical solution over the life of the project. It is
ideal for applications where appearance, strength, hygiene, and exceptional
environmental resistance are all critical considerations.
